How to Keep A Positive Mindset

how to keep a positive mindset

In the midst of the many changes we go through in life, there are also many unexplained rough days.

Sometimes maintaining a positive mindset is harder than one would think.

Turning your intentions to positive ones and coming up with a way to change your mindset is key in getting out of the depth of negativity.

With social media being as prevalent as it is these days it’s hard to not compare yourself to others. Especially when you see so many things that make you feel like you are less than ‘average’. Whatever that even is..

Validations from others don’t seem to be a necessity for happy people. Because the truth is that life is different for every one of us. Our experiences are different, therefor our perceptions will always be a bit different from one another.

That’s why its so important to learn to be happy with who you are and what you have to offer the world.

We have a choice to transform things in our mindset as a positive or a negative.

And whichever we choose will continually take presidency over our actions.

The less expectations we have of this world and others, the more grateful we allow ourselves to be.

Self love and overcoming is a process that requires a lot of patience within and for yourself.

Change is inevitable, but we have the choice to choose a positive mindset every day. That is the strength we need to hold onto.

We all go through seasons where it feels like there is one storm after another, but the good news is that seasons do change and it never stays dark forever.

There is a spiritual battle that is constantly taking place in our life and its up to us to decide which side of the battle to fight on.

We have no control over the storms that come our way but we do have control in how we deal with them.

The hardest part sometimes is taking control. & the second hardest part is just knowing that you can.

A major part of self care is taking care of your mind and learning how to stay positive through challenging times

  • Get adequate sleep every night.

Most people (like me) need 8 hours of sleep every night. Although there are those that can survive on less. Do what works for you! Sometimes when you get too much sleep it’s hard for your body to adjust to being awake again and when you don’t get enough sometimes you can physically get sick. Be aware of what your body is telling you!

  • Exercise

I used to believe that i only needed to work out about 3 times a week. However, i have found that working out every day makes a massive difference in your well being.

Exercise releases endorphins into your bloodstream that make you feel happier and more energetic. Don’t wear yourself out, though! only do what you can.

  • Write your goals and envision them daily.

Manifesting our dreams is a sure way to make them happen. What i like to do is write in a journal everyday about what i want and the things i plan on doing to get there. Not knowing what you want can create a lot of stress and anxiety and can take a toll on your mental, and even your physical health!

  • Listen to music that makes you feel good.

Whether it be something you relate to emotionally or something you just enjoy. Music is good for the soul and I highly encourage it. Listen to something that uplifts you and encourages you, or something that fits the mood your in. it helps!

  • Talk with a therapist, a close friend or someone you trust on a weekly basis.

*This one is necessary for me! I have always needed someone close to talk to.. it’s harder for me to deal with things the more I push myself away from them. Lately i have learned that talking to those that are closest in my life about my personal problems really doesn’t do me any good. For some reason it always creates awkward feelings and creates walls that were never meant to be there, so getting a therapist was the best option for me.

Putting things off can cause so much anxiety! Holy Hanna life can start to seem unmanageable when things that are important to you and the things that are important in your life start to get put off! Find a way to get the important stuff done first! Priorities.. set them straight in your life! You will be so thankful you did.

  • Set a time limit on your worries

Allow yourself to feel all the feels. No matter the feeling, just know you have every right to it. The goal is to not unpack and live there. Move forward with positive intentions & make a plan for how you will in every situation.

  • Accept yourself right where you are at.

There is no guidebook to life, no timeline to getting things right, and no one is holding yourself more accountable than you are. No one is criticizing you as much as you.

You know what you need & you know what is best for you.

Every one of us has a purpose on this earth, and if we are going to God in good and hard times we will certainly find joy and peace.

It’s up to us to seek it in every moment, every action, and in every day. Stay positive. There is power in that!
