Children Are Much Wiser Than We Give Them Credit For
While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about
I have been running frantically throughout the house doing a million and one things ( for some reason I just can’t take my own advice all the time and just chill ),
and my son who is holding my brand new iPhone started to take pictures of me.
Of course, my first reaction is
“bubba no I look like crap, give me my phone now because I’m busy and I don’t want to see that anyway”.
His 6 year old self persisted so instead of taking my phone from him right away ( I choose my battles), i went with the flow and struck a pose planning on deleting it after.
He ever-so cutely said “mommy, look! You are so pretty I took like a million!” With the brightest smile like he loved it or something🙄 afterwards something hit me telling me to post it.
My reasons why I did NOT want to:
1. My house is a mess and you can see there are piles of paperwork taking over my counters
2. My mama pouch is totally hanging out
3. No makeup up and my hair is a frizz ball mess that has yet to be tamed and straightened
4. Everyone is totally going to judge the way I look, or my house or SOMETHING
Today my 6 year old son changed my perspective on how I view my “image” and today he inspired me to want to change the way people view my image by doing the things I wouldn’t have done before. Including this. Me in my element. Do you have similar thoughts when posting anything personal too?
Kinda silly reasons when you think about how many others are living the very same life, and are also ashamed to show it.
Why can’t we all just be real and accept that we are all probably super similar despite that our struggles may be different?
We are all human.
Being a parent is hard no matter how many kids you have. And the unfortunate part about it is that Life can be really good for one moment, and be really messy the next.
It’s hard enough to find others that accept of you and if you think everyone will like you someday you need to know your wrong.
Be accepting of yourself, and your life, and even your mess. Be silly more and embrace your situation for what it is! Maybe then, you will inspire others to do the same! It’s time to really live your life and be proud of all of the mess in between.
Children are much wiser than we give them credit for ❤️
Love,
