4 Delicious and Festive Drinks

Thank you for sharing!

Friends, It’s Cinco De Mayo!!

To us, that means it’s time to cook up some delicious Mexican food and drink some yummy drinks!

Here I give you 4 delicious and very festive drinks (one even with NO alcohol.. but still super yummy!)

Plus- one can be made into a punch for large groups!

Oh the ol’ american way!

Do Mexicans even make this holiday as big of a deal as us?🤔

Who knows..we keep doin what we do anyways.

If you care to know why Cinco De Mayo is even celebrated, according to Wikipedia:

The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza….

So.. there’s that. So happy for them, honestly though!

We all know what tonight is really all about good mexican food, good drinks and good company!

(Well, that’s what it is most of the time from my experience😉)

However; good food isn’t always on the menu every day if we’re being honest here 😆

But, on tonight’s menus is my famous and authentic carne asada tacos!! 😋

Ok, NOW I’m ready..

Let’s get down to what we all really want to talk about..

And drinks..

Alcoholic drinks😋

First things first.. a 5 star all around drink!

Island Breeze Cocktail

(The highest rated drink, everywhere!)

• 1-2 ounces vodka

• 6 ounces pineapple juice

• Splash of cranberry juice

• Pineapple and a maraschino cherry for garnish, (optional)

• 36 ounces pineapple juice

• 12 ounces vodka (more or less depending on how strong you want it)

• 1/2 cup cranberry juice

• Up to 1L Sparkling water or diet lemon-lime soda as a filler

• Pour all ingredients over ice, stir, and enjoy!

Blue Crush Margarita’s

(My absolute favorite!)

2 limes, sliced into wedges

Course salt, for rimming glasses

1/4 c. Blue Curacao

3 oz. tequila

3 oz. triple sec

1/3 c. lime juice

1 can seltzer

2 c. ice

Rim two tall glasses with lime and salt.

Combine Curacao, tequila, triple sec and lime juice into the glasses and stir to combine.

Top with a splash of seltzer and as much ice as desired. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

The Panchito

( For kids or adults who prefer no alcohol!)

• 1 can unsweetened coconut milk

• 20 ounces of pineapple juice

• 1 – 1 ½ cups fresh pineapple, cubed

• 5 cups crushed ice

• 1 teaspoon coconut extract

• 2 tablespoons brown sugar

• 8 tablespoons caramel sauce

Add the pineapple juice, coconut milk, fresh pineapple, coconut extract, brown sugar and crushed ice to a blender; blend at high speed.

Pour into a tall glass, and Garnish with caramel sauce by pouring 1 tablespoon of the sauce on top of the pina colada (add alcohol for adults) and stir in. This serves 8 servings, about 8 ounces each.

Add a pineapple wedge and serve.

Drink up and enjoy!

Tequila Sunrise Mimosa

(A Great drink for brunch!)

1 part tequila

1 part brut champagne

2 parts orange juice

Splash of grenadine

Optional orange wedges for garnish

Pour tequila in champagne glass, then pour champagne and orange juice. Top with grenadine.

How amazing do all of these drinks sound??

My mouth is watering as I start my car and head off to the liquor store..

I am gonna go with the blue crush margarita tonight and try to remind myself that this is an alcoholic beverage and I can’t drink it like juice… SO hard when it’s just SO good though!

Who else is with me?

What drink is your favorite on Cinco De Mayo?

Share with me, please!! I love trying new things!!

Tonight (every night basically) all I am asking of you is 3 things.. that’s not tooooo much right?

Be safe, drive safe, and drink safe!

Much love,

Mama in Grace
